Baseball Recap: Norco Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Norco's offense. They fell just short of the La Mirada Matadores by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Norco got a good showing from Trent Schlim, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Schlim has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Norco's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for La Mirada, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Norco didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Summit on the 4th. As for La Mirada, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-1 defeat against Corona on the 4th.
