Northmont's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Abels, who had 16 digs and 14 assists. Abels is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Hager, who had seven digs and four aces.
Butler found their leader in underclassman Nora Stammen, who had 11 digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for her.
Northmont's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Butler, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Northmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory vs. Fairmont on the 10th. Butler has also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Stebbins on the 10th.
