Taylor and Deltona are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long. Taylor will venture away from home to take on Deltona at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
It was a proper cat-fight when Taylor duked it out with Crooms Academy on Thursday. Taylor blew past Crooms Academy 13-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Peyton Fender spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Ramos, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Drew Moyer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Deltona suffered their closest defeat since February 21st on Friday. They fell just short of Umatilla by a score of 5-3. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.
Deltona also got a good showing from Evan Grove, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Grove has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Deltona saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yandiel Torres, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Noah Lochiatto, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Taylor pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Deltona, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Taylor has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Deltona struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Taylor suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Deltona when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can Taylor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
