Basketball Game Preview: Academy with Community Partners Lions vs. Ajo Red Raiders

The Academy with Community Partners Lions will head out on the road to take on the Ajo Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Academy with Community Partners is headed into Thursday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Tri-City Christian Academy. The Lions were down 56-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-26, which was the final score in Ajo's tilt against Ville de Marie Academy last Tuesday. The game marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Academy with Community Partners' loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Ajo, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything came up roses for Academy with Community Partners against Ajo in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 78-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Academy with Community Partners since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
