Basketball Game Preview: Hinkley Thunder vs. Greeley West Spartans

The Hinkley Thunder are taking a road trip to take on the Greeley West Spartans at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 38 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Hinkley and six for Greeley West.

Hinkley's tournament run continued when they took on DMLK on Thursday. Hinkley came up short against DMLK, falling 47-27. That's two games in a row now that the Thunder have lost by exactly 20 points.

Meanwhile, Greeley West ended up a good deal behind Fort Collins on Tuesday and lost 53-36. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Lambkins are ranked 112th).

Hinkley will have to contain Paige Rupple as she made an impact in Greeley West's last game. She posted 16 points and six rebounds. Rupple continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Hinkley's record now sits at 0-20. As for Greeley West, their record is now 4-18.
