Basketball Recap: Abbi Vite's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Easley over West-Oak

If Easley was feeling good fresh off their 65-42 takedown of Liberty last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Easley Green Wave and the West-Oak Warriors didn't end well, with the Easley Green Wave falling 47-32. The Green Wave haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Several Green Wave players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abbi Vite, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. Vite is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kimbel Leach, who earned nine points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Easley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West-Oak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reagan Mobley, who put up nine points along with six boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinady Marcengill, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points and four steals.

Easley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for West-Oak, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Easley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-39 loss against Greenwood on the 3rd. As for West-Oak, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-36 defeat against Daniel on the 3rd.
