Basketball Recap: Emanuel County Institute Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Emanuel County Institute lost against Portal back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs fell 44-35 to the Portal Panthers. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Portal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but London Blackmon led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 19 boards. Those 19 rebounds gave Blackmon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Millie Kingsberry, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals.

Emanuel County Institute's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10. As for Portal, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

Emanuel County Institute is taking a road trip to take on Treutlen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Portal, they will take on Jenkins County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Portal is facing Jenkins County at the right time seeing as Jenkins County is stuck on a 20-game losing streak.
