Basketball Game Preview: Wise Pumas vs. St. Mary's Ryken Knights

The Wise Pumas will take on the St. Mary's Ryken Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Wise's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Wise is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging an 89-47 victory over Bladensburg. With the Pumas ahead 41-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

It was another big night for Dion Walker, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 18 points and three steals. Cayden Hargrove was another key player, going 5 of 6 en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's Ryken had to suffer through a 83-53 loss at the hands of Archbishop Carroll. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Wise's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for St. Mary's Ryken, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Wise and St. Mary's Ryken were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but Wise came up empty-handed after a 53-52 loss. Can Wise avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
