Volleyball Recap: Effingham Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Effingham had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 2-0 to the Salem Wildcats. The Hearts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While Effingham was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23.

Looking ahead, Effingham will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Newton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salem, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Flora on the 26th.
