Brady Serda of Frontier (Calif.) demonstrates good football knowledge.

It seemed like Frontier (Bakersfield, Calif.) would coast to an easy victory over Independence, since it had a 23-point lead late in the fourth quarter.

Independence scored, however, an attempted an onside kick to narrow the gap even further.

That's when the smart thinking of Frontier's Brady Serda came in.

Independence's onside kick appeared to travel less than the required 10 yards, and players from both teams stood around idly.

Recognizing that it was a live ball, Serda snatched the ball from the ground and sprinted down the field for an improbable touchdown.

"It hit one of their guys and just sat there, with nobody reacting," Frontier head coach Richard Cornford told MaxPreps. "So Brady picked it up and ran it for a touchdown."

The score provided critical for Frontier, which held on for a 58-50 victory.
