Basketball Recap: Cromwell Triumphs

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Cromwell Cardinals beat the Virginia Blue Devils 65-60. The Cardinals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

It was another big night for Brady Dahl, who went 10-for-23 en route to 26 points and eight rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Nyberg, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Cromwell was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Cromwell has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cromwell will venture away from home to take on Chisholm at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Virginia, they will face off against Cherry at 7:15 p.m. on February 28th.
