Volleyball Recap: Aurora Takes a Loss

Aurora lost against Mt. Vernon on Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Houn Dawgs lost 3-0 to the Mountaineers.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-16, 25-8.

Kylee Phelps paced Aurora's offense, picking up seven kills. Phelps got some help from Miley Feringa and her 15 assists.

Averee Swillum was a one-woman wrecking crew For Mt. Vernon. as she had 11 digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Swillum a new career-high.

Aurora's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-6-2.

Coming up, Aurora will square off against Lamar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will face off against Cassville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
