Softball Recap: Archbishop Wood Takes a Loss

If Archbishop Wood was riding high fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Archbishop Carroll on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the William Tennent Panthers on Saturday, falling 15-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Archbishop Wood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya McGrory, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Archbishop Wood's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for William Tennent, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Wood will head out to take on Conwell-Egan Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for William Tennent, they will square off against Springfield Township at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
