Recap: Hesston Swathers vs. Marysville Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Collegiate, The Hesston Swathers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They skirted past Marysville 20-17. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hesston also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hesston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reed Friesen, who rushed for 84 yards, and also threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jackson Fry, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Hesston's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.5 points per game. As for Marysville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Hesston will take on Clay Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clay Center will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Marysville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
