Basketball Recap: Northland Christian Starts Season with Win at Home

Northland Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Guadalupe Centers Aztecs to the tune of 70-18. That's more bragging rights for Northland Christian, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Molly Day was a one-woman wrecking crew as she shot 93% from the field on her way to 28 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Those 93% shooting accuracy gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ruby Wheeler, who went 8-for-12 en route to 16 points along with eight assists and seven boards.

Northland Christian and Guadalupe Centers will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time Northland Christian sees the court they'll take on Orrick at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Guadalupe Centers, their break will end when they face Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 2.
