There's no need to mince words: San Jon/Grady lost to Carrizozo last Friday, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 14-69. San Jon/Grady were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 14-57.

Meanwhile, Elida faced Springer/Maxwell in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Elida put a hurting on Springer/Maxwell to the tune of 71-19. The win was familiar territory for Elida, who now have five in a row.

Elida's victory lifted them to 6-1 while San Jon/Grady's defeat dropped them down to 3-3. We'll see if Elida's success rolls on or if San Jon/Grady are able to steal their positive momentum.
