Baseball Game Preview: Mount Anthony Patriots vs. Lyndon Institute Vikings

The Mount Anthony Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Lyndon Institute Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mount Anthony is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Mount Anthony is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Drury, who was ranked 24th in their home state at the time (Mount Anthony was ranked second). The Patriots walked away with a 6-1 win over the Blue Devils on Tuesday.

Colby Hill made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Sean Moriarty was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jacoby Dicranian, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Lyndon Institute strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Hartford a 12-0 shutout.

Mount Anthony's record is now 5-2-1. As for Lyndon Institute, their record now sits at 3-0.

Mount Anthony came out on top in a nail-biter against Lyndon Institute in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
