Softball Recap: Fort Cherry Comes Up Short

Fort Cherry extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Seton LaSalle Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on Monday.

As for Seton LaSalle, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Seton LaSalle's part, the team relied heavily on Meadow Kenard, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Kenard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Delaney Baker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Looking ahead, Fort Cherry will host Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seton LaSalle, they will venture away from home to face off against Burgettstown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
