Softball Recap: Johnstown-Monroe's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Johnstown-Monroe easily dispatched Big Walnut last Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Johnnies fell just short of the Lincoln Lions by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Johnnies have suffered since April 16th.

Johnstown-Monroe saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Hochanadel, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Johnstown-Monroe's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnstown-Monroe will face off against New Albany at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Johnnies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Hilliard Bradley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
