New Miami fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Lockland on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 8-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

New Miami's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lockland, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

New Miami has already played their next game (against North College Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lockland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 defeat against Cincinnati Country Day on the 5th.
