Basketball Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Comes Up Short

St. Benedict at Auburndale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Christian Brothers Purple Wave, falling 70-36. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Purple Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-33 back in January.

Despite the loss, St. Benedict at Auburndale saw an underclassman step up: freshman Trey Taylor posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Christion Westbrook, who scored seven points.

St. Benedict at Auburndale's record is now 2-21. As for Christian Brothers, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Coming up, St. Benedict at Auburndale will challenge Briarcrest Christian at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st. Briarcrest Christian will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something St. Benedict at Auburndale surely won't give up without a fight. As for Christian Brothers, they will square off against Memphis University School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
