Oakbrook Prep came out on top against Blacksburg on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 14-run seventh inning. The Knights put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 19-8 win. Considering the Knights have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Oakbrook Prep got a massive performance out of Bryce Horton, who went 2-for-5 with five runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five runs gave Horton a new career-high. Cade Spears was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Oakbrook Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blacksburg only managed four hits.
