Softball Recap: Jackson Heights Comes Up Short

Jackson Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Cyclones.

Gracie Cowsert made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Amon, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Jackson Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Riverside [Wathena/Elwood], the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] beat Jackson Heights by a score of 20-7 later that day.
