Baseball Recap: Conneaut Area's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fairview, Conneaut Area was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Corry Beavers by a score of 6-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Beavers back in April, they had to take a 9-3 defeat.

Alex Wilpula made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Conneaut Area's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Wilpula was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Wilpula wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caiden Loucks, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Kyle Herr also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Conneaut Area's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for Corry, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-9 record.

Conneaut Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Corry, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-5 victory against Seneca on the 16th.
