Basketball Recap: Jacksonville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After flying high against Whitehouse last Friday, Jacksonville came back down to earth. The Jacksonville Fightin' Indians took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nacogdoches Dragons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Fightin' Indians came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Dragons are ranked 270th).

Jacksonville moved to 23-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Nacogdoches, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Jacksonville will face off against Tyler at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Tyler will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Jacksonville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nacogdoches, they will head out on the road to square off against Lufkin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
