Basketball Recap: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Our Lady of Mount Carmel hadn't done well against Western recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars wrapped up 2024 with a 49-32 win over Western. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars who have now won four games in a row.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylah King out in front who posted 20 points. The contest was King's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiersten Rurka, who scored 15 points.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel's record is now 9-4. As for Western, they moved to 5-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Our Lady of Mount Carmel will square off against Mercy at 4:15 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Our Lady of Mount Carmel is facing Mercy at the right time seeing as Mercy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Western, they will venture away from home to face off against City College at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
