Baseball Recap: Bridgeport Bulldogs vs. Magnolia Blue Eagles
After flying high against Hundred last Thursday, Bridgeport came back down to earth. The Bridgeport Bulldogs lost 14-4 to the Magnolia Blue Eagles on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bridgeport of the 14-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.
JAKI THREET and Gage Drummond stepped up to the plate in a big way. THREET got on base in all three of his plate appearances with a stolen base, a double, and an RBI, while Drummond scored a run while going 2-for-3. Avery Jackson was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Bridgeport dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Magnolia, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.
Bridgeport will head out on the road to take on Hundred at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bridgeport is facing Hundred at the right time seeing as Hundred is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Magnolia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
