Basketball Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northview Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 160th in Michigan, while the Wildcats are ranked 46th in Ohio).

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Northview, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe will face off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northview, they will square off against Anthony Wayne at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Anthony Wayne knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 contests -- so hopefully Northview likes a good challenge.
