Game recap

JaVaughn Iversen ran for four touchdowns to lift Modesto Christian (Modesto, Calif.) to a 63-0 beat over Riverbank (Calif.). The scores gave the senior nine touchdowns for the year.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Zack Megee in the first quarter, the Crusaders led 42-0 at the half.

Modesto Christian expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. MC's lone score in the quarter came on a Iversen touchdown run.

Even though the Modesto school led by 49 points entering the fourth quarter, it poured the points on, scoring 14 in the fourth.

The Crusaders came in allowing an average of 28.5 points per game this season. Modesto Christian held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Bruins well below the 19.5 points it had been averaging per game.

MC also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 61-6.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Crusaders, which lost to Ripon last week, 52-0.

In a Trans Valley game next week Riverbank (2-5) takes on Ripon, and Modesto Christian (4-3) will go up against Hughson also in a Trans Valley game.
