Volleyball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Alliance on Tuesday, Springfield came back down to earth. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Cloverleaf Colts on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-16.

Springfield's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cloverleaf, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Springfield will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Aquinas at 10:00 a.m. As for Cloverleaf, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Coventry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
