Basketball Recap: Liberty Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Conrad Science

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Liberty Hurricanes beat the Conrad Science Red Wolves 58-53. The win was all the more spectacular given the Hurricanes' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 156th in Pennsylvania, while the Red Wolves are ranked fourth in Delaware).

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Conrad Science, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty and Downingtown West will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Conrad Science, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Elizabeth at 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
