Baseball Recap: Shalom Christian Academy Takes a Loss

York County Tech hit Shalom Christian Academy with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Flames took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Drake Wenger was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Shalom Christian Academy is 2-1 when Wenger posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Will Turner, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Shalom Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for York County Tech, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.
