Soccer Recap: East Burke Takes a Loss

East Burke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 5-2 to the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but East Burke couldn't quite close it out.

East Burke's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Bessemer City, their win bumped their record up to 2-3-1.

East Burke will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on September 8. As for Bessemer City, they will take on West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bessemer City's defense better be ready for this one: West Lincoln have averaged an impressive 4 goals per game this season.
