Basketball Recap: Rockford Auburn Beats Harlem for Their Second Straight Victory

Rockford Auburn won the last time they faced Harlem, and Champ Parker did his part to make sure it happened again. The Rockford Auburn Knights snuck past the Harlem Huskies with a 71-66 victory on Friday thanks in part to Parker, who went 11 for 24 on his way to 33 points and five boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game.

Tazheer Henderson was another key player, putting up seven points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.

Despite the loss, Harlem still got an impressive performance from Julius Roundtree, who went 9 of 16 en route to 25 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Roundtree has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Perera, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Rockford Auburn and bumps their season record up to 14-11. As for Harlem, they moved to 9-14 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Rockford Auburn will face off against Jefferson at 7:15 p.m. on February 7th. Rockford Auburn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.4 points per game this season. As for Harlem, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 75-55 defeat against Plainfield North on the 1st.
