After flying high against Western Guilford on Wednesday, Northern Guilford came back down to earth. The Nighthawks fell just short of the Providence Grove Patriots by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The Nighthawks' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Northern Guilford got a good showing from John Yarnovich, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Yarnovich a new career-low.

At the plate, Nathanael Lorczak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Jason Ellis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.
