Baseball Recap: Otsego Comes Up Short

The matchup between Otsego and Vicksburg on Friday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. Otsego lost 16-5 to Vicksburg. Otsego was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vicksburg apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Peyton Koenig made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Otsego has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Vicksburg, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8-1.

Coming up, Vicksburg is taking a road trip to challenge Marshall at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Otsego will be paying especially close attention to Vicksburg's contest: after Vicksburg faces off against Marshall, they'll take on Otsego again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
