Basketball Recap: Pasadena Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Pasadena Eagles came up short against the West Fork Gators and fell 41-28. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gators 9-1 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Pasadena saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lianna Garcia dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Garcia has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily De La Garza, who posted five points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Pasadena has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for West Fork, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

Pasadena will host Dayton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pasadena is facing Dayton at the right time seeing as Dayton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for West Fork, they will venture away from home to square off against Crosby at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Fork will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: Crosby will have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
