Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I recap September 10, 2013

Mike Jones of South ran for the longest rushing play in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I this season against Derby last week. Jones ran for 61 yards on the play and finished with 208 on the day as his team topped the Panthers.

Haysville Campus lost to Andover 41-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Justin Stonebraker and Jones gave South a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Stonebraker also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.

Stonebraker and Jones gave Sam Sellers' team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.

Stonebraker put up the best numbers through the air as the Cougars topped Derby. He finished with a total of 11 completions for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns. Stonebraker's favorite target this week was Zach Nachbar, who caught 4 passes for 63 yards.

JW Maldaner was a passing and rushing force as Central fell to Hutchinson. He completed 16 passes for 187 yards and also ran for 90 yards. Maldaner's key target this week was Kamen Kossow, who caught 7 passes for 123 yards.

Jones was the best running back in the league this week.

Kossow was the best wideout in the league this week as the Mustangs lost to the Salt Hawks. Casey Rayas helped Central's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 50 yards.

Central's Maldaner and Kossow have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Maldaner has thrown for 187 yards this season, while Kossow has 7 catches for 123 yards. South's Jones leads the league in rushing yards with 208.

The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Cougars and Maize. South enters the game ranked third in the state, while the Eagles ranks 23rd.

The Cougars' offense has racked up 41 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Maize has allowed only 22 on the year.

Craig Broadbent's team led the league in scoring this week by notching 42 points on Newton.
