Baseball Recap: Happy Camp Takes a Loss

Happy Camp extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They lost 12-2 to the Loyalton Grizzlies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

As for Loyalton, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.

For Loyalton's part, Thor Corcoran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Corcoran has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Coincidentally, Happy Camp and Loyalton will both be playing Plumas Charter the next time they take the field. The Indians will head out to face the Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Grizzlies will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
