Baseball Recap: Indian River Falls Short Against Ranked Sussex Tech

Indian River faced Sussex Tech in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Indians fell just short of the Ravens by a score of 4-2. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Ravens when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Indian River saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Ruley, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Indian River and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Sussex Tech, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Indian River didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Lake Forest on the 29th. As for Sussex Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 16-10 victory against St. Georges Tech on the 26th.
