Basketball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield lost against Dickson County back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Springfield Yellow Jackets came up short against the Dickson County Cougars, falling 70-45. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Cougars are ranked 54th).

Springfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season. The win (which was Dickson County's fifth in a row) raised their record to 23-5.

Springfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dickson County, they will challenge Henry County on Tuesday. Dickson County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Henry County likes a good challenge.
