Baseball Recap: Reedsville Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Reedsville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the New Holstein Huskies 3-2. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered an 8-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lucas Lodel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Logan Maertz looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Lodel wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Prochnow, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Reedsville's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for New Holstein, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.
