Basketball Recap: Laporte Comes Up Short

Laporte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 54-47 defeat to the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves. The Wildcats lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in February of 2025, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 81-41 score last time.

Laporte's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laporte will host Nevis at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, they will look to defend their home court on the 15th against Red Lake at 6:00 p.m.
