Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Cristo Rey Fort Worth

There's no place like home for Heritage Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cristo Rey Fort Worth Lions by a score of 46-34 on Friday. That 12 point margin sets a new team best for Heritage Christian Academy this season.

Heritage Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Hicks, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Hicks a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Pappas, who had 13 points.

Heritage Christian Academy moved to 5-15 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Cristo Rey Fort Worth, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Joshua Christian the next time they take the court. Heritage Christian Academy will host Joshua Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Cristo Rey Fort Worth will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
