Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Newman AAA's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Non Varsity Opponent came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Newman AAA, but Lucas Morillo wouldn't allow it. The Newman AAA Cardinals walked away with an 86-78 victory over Non Varsity Opponent on Saturday which was due in part to Morillo, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 12 boards. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Collins Onyejiaka, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (eight).

Newman AAA is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season.
