Softball Recap: Kent Island Takes a Loss

After flying high against Southern on Thursday, Kent Island came back down to earth. The Buccaneers came up short against the Easton Warriors on Tuesday, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in March.

Abby Mahaffey was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Kent Island has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Easton, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coincidentally, Kent Island and Easton will both be playing Cambridge-South Dorchester the next time they take the field. The Buccaneers will host the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
