Basketball Recap: Kearney Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brooke Paalhar and Jocelyn Lincoln

If Kearney was feeling good fresh off their 74-21 takedown of Winnetonka last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kearney Bulldogs fell 49-41 to the Oak Park Northmen on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Northmen are ranked 21st).

Kearney's loss came despite strong showings from Jocelyn Lincoln and Brooke Paalhar. Lincoln posted eight points and eight rebounds, while Paalhar scored eight points along with seven assists and five boards. Kennedi Casey was another key player, putting up eight points.

Kearney has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Oak Park, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Kearney will challenge Park Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oak Park, they will head out to take on Parkway South at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
