Roy is 2-8 against Box Elder since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Royals will host the Bees at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Roy turned things around against Northridge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Knights.
Meanwhile, Box Elder got themselves on the board against Bonneville on Tuesday, but Bonneville never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lakers with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Bees have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kennadie Blackmer was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Lucy Braegger looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Kailee Hall was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Maclee WIllard, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Box Elder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonneville only posted an OBP of .100.
Box Elder's victory bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Roy, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
