It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Southwestern had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-24 victory over the Austin Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Southwestern's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Cook, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Cook has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Lewis, who earned ten points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Southwestern's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Austin, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-14.

Coming up, Southwestern and South Ripley will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Southwestern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
