Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Rosecrans Bishops vs. Conotton Valley Rockets

The Bishop Rosecrans Bishops will be taking part in a tournament against the Conotton Valley Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bishop Rosecrans is headed into Friday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They had to suffer through a 78-44 loss at the hands of Malvern. While losing is never fun, the Bishops can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Hornets are ranked 172nd).

Despite the loss, Bishop Rosecrans had strong showings from Tyler Bernett, who went 7-for-16 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds, and Brody Boothe, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Lambert, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Conotton Valley entered their tilt with Tuscarawas Central Catholic on Tuesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Saints 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rockets have posted since January 25th.

The win got Conotton Valley back to even at 11-11. As for Bishop Rosecrans, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.
